Reflect the Pure Light

“The senses, by themselves, are innocent and good but, when they are allowed to turn only outside, they attract external things, transfer that message to the mind, and make the mind restless. Instead, the senses should be turned inward so that they will see the purity of the mind and not take on the color of the outside world. See, it’s something like a mirror; if a mirror is turned one way it reflects all the colors outside. However, if it is turned inward toward the light, it reflects the pure light. This is the essence of the yogic practice ofpratyahara.”
